WordPress Websites
We've been building websites since 1997. In that time, we've navigated every major shift in the web - from table layouts to responsive design, from static pages to dynamic platforms, from basic SEO to the agentic web era we're entering now.
Whether you're inheriting a site no one wants to touch, replacing something that hasn't kept up, or realizing that the agency you trusted to build your website just isn't cut out for today's web - the WordPress development agency you choose matters more than it ever has. Maybe you thought your ad agency could build you a website. Sure, they could 10 years ago. But today's websites need to be built by experienced professionals dedicated to the art and science - not bolted on.
We work with organizations that have outgrown sites built on templates or with flimsy page builders that add more risk than they're worth. We work with mature organizations that value creativity and quality craftsmanship, and understand that a custom WordPress website is an investment in long-term performance, not a visual refresh.
What hasn't changed: the fundamentals matter. Clean code, smart design, semantic structure, and accessibility aren't trends. They're the foundation that makes everything else work - including the AI agents and answer engines that are reshaping how people find and interact with websites.
We lean forward. Always have. And we bring 29 years of depth to every project so you're not the one paying for someone else's learning curve.
No juniors. No interns. Just the pros.
Our approach to custom WordPress development
Most organizations that come to us have already been through a build that didn't hold up. Maybe the agency used a page builder and now every update is a risk. Maybe the site looks fine but the codebase is so tangled that no new WordPress developer wants to touch it. Maybe you've been told your site isn't accessible and you're not sure where to start.
We build custom WordPress themes from scratch - clean PHP, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), native WordPress APIs, and a codebase your next developer can actually maintain. Not Elementor. Not Divi. Not WPBakery.
What you get:
- Fast-loading sites that don't carry page builder bloat
- Custom plugin development when off-the-shelf solutions don't cut it
- Third-party integrations built to your requirements
- Every dependency vetted for security, performance, and accessibility
- A site your content team can update without calling a developer
Page builders produce bloated markup, create accessibility problems, and introduce security vulnerabilities that wouldn't exist in a clean build. They go up fast, but they break fast too. A custom build costs more upfront. It costs dramatically less over time.
WordPress accessibility: WCAG compliance for legal protection, SEO, and AIO
Your website has four types of visitors: human users, screen readers and assistive technology, search engine crawlers, and AI agents. They all need the same thing from your code - semantic structure, clear labels, logical hierarchy, and content they can parse without guessing.

That's what WCAG compliance delivers. Not just legal protection (though ADA litigation continues to increase year over year). Not just expanded reach to 61 million Americans with disabilities and 71 million Boomers with changing vision and dexterity. WCAG compliance produces the structured, well-labeled HTML that search engines use to index your content and AI systems use to cite and recommend it.
Accessibility, SEO, and AIO are the same engineering discipline. One codebase. Three outcomes.
Every WordPress site we build meets WCAG 2.2 AA standards:
- Semantic HTML throughout
- Keyboard navigation for every interactive element
- Accessible forms with visible labels and error messaging
- Color contrast that passes on every surface
- Alt text that describes purpose, serving assistive technology, search crawlers, and AI agents equally
We keep it tight from build through launch, and our care plans include accessibility regression testing so it stays compliant after every update.
For formal accessibility auditing, VPATs, or governance programs, we work alongside Accessibility.Works, our dedicated digital accessibility consultancy.
How a WordPress project works with us
Every project follows the same five-step process. No surprises, no scope ambiguity.

1. Discovery and technical plan
We audit your current site (if you have one), learn your business, and deliver a written technical plan you own regardless of whether you move forward with us. This is a deliverable, not a sales pitch.
2. Design
No house style. Calm design - focused, restrained, unique to your brand. The human touch that AI can't deliver. Accessibility is part of design from the start:
- Layout hierarchy and focus states
- Contrast and color systems
- Form patterns and error handling
- Content architecture and navigation
3. Custom build
Custom themes, custom plugins, third-party integrations, content migration, and testing throughout. Every plugin vetted for security, performance, and accessibility before it goes in.
4. Launch and QA
Screen reader testing, keyboard navigation, cross-browser QA, performance audit, SEO baseline (Search Console, structured data, sitemap). We don't launch until it passes.
5. Ongoing care plan
Core updates, plugin updates, security monitoring, hosting management, accessibility regression checks, and performance monitoring. Your site stays current and compliant without you thinking about it.
WordPress SEO, AIO, and the agentic web
If your organic traffic has been declining or your content isn't showing up the way it used to, you're not imagining it.

The web is shifting from indexing to retrieval. Search engines used to rank pages. Now AI systems read them, extract answers, and present those answers directly to the person asking. Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity - they all consume web content and synthesize it for the user.
This is the agentic web - and the way your website is built determines whether your content gets cited or gets skipped.
Every WordPress site we build is engineered for this:
- Structured data markup (Organization, BreadcrumbList, Article, FAQPage schema)
- Semantic heading hierarchy for AI content parsing
- Clean URL architecture
- Content structured to answer specific questions in the first few sentences
Traditional SEO still matters - page speed, image optimization, sitemaps, internal linking. But the WordPress websites that win in 2026 and beyond are the ones built to answer questions, not just rank for keywords.
This isn't a separate service. It's how we build.
