There is no way that you've logged into LinkedIn since September 24 and not noticed the huge push for the new feature called Endorsements. The feature now enables peers to validate or "Endorse" specific skills claimed by others. The idea is to provide some peer validation to the skills that people claim. This should clarify what people are really good at, but of course there will be a lot of you-scratch-my-back action out there. Still, I think we'll see a short flurry of Endorsement action to allow LinkedIn to generate some healthy ad revenue in the process.
So go and check your profile. Look at your list of Skills. I suggest shortening that list to only what you're best at - not just in your eyes but your peer's eyes. You don't want to have a long list of skills that nobody validates for you.
